Supporting Growth: Providing Desks and Chairs

Grade 6 is a transitional stage from primary to upper school and also the time where girls become young ladies as their bodies reach puberty or prepuberty where the little chairs of the primary unit ceases to fit and they have to crouch down and bend their necks to write and sit on the chairs and use the tables. One of our school development projects was to purchase chairs and desks for grade 6. Many of our members with our sisters from abroad and in Sri Lanka got together to give all the grade 6 classes the much needed desks and chairs. The smiles and straight spines of the children after the projects was thank you enough.
